Friend:
do you know why the petition of prayers and intentions are said after the profession of faith?
Me:
mm not really...
Friend:
because WE BELIEVE in Love. the concept of sacrifices and offerings, the understanding of mercy and compassion, the power of prayer... we PROFESS it.
then we say our intentions
and THEN it's the offertory of the gifts
and as humans, we are imperfect, but we find perfection in him
and so we offer up our failures, our successes, our intentions... all at once
and leave it at the foot of the cross. on the altar
